Who knew paint could be pushed to such extremes? Vincent Lardieri does. His constant state of experimentation is evident in his artwork that clearly pushes the boundaries in every way we can see.
Vincent Lardieri was born in Florida in 1980. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from Florida State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art (with an emphasis in Painting) from Savannah College of Art & Design. From then, his painting career began upon experimentation of various mediums. His curiosity for different techniques has landed him in a position of working with materials that make his audience wonder....is it paint, or is it something else?
You'll see matte paint, gel finishes, cracked textures and pushed and pulled application. His surfaces range from panel to canvas, to stretched and dried acrylic acting on its own. Lardieri's work truly does cover all the bases. His pieces celebrate the liberation of the art world itself, as he is constantly encouraged to push the limits, time and time again.
Lardieri explores properties of paint while composing cohesive compositions and color combinations. His venture with acrylics have teetered into the use of transparency, translucency, and opacity in his work. Every painting is unique and impossible to replicate. Lardieri strategically uses specific mediums and colors, but his work also has an essence of chance to it as well. He allows his paintings to formulate themselves into whatever they are destined to be. His work definitely blurs the lines between two-dimensional and three-dimensional, as they are so abstract, interpretive, and recognizably unique. Every piece begs the viewer to step closer and attempt to grasp what they are looking at. However, it is particularly easy to get lost in the multi-dimensional wonder of his work.
Vince was ranked #1 out of the “Ten Best Visual Artists in Palm Beach County” in the New Times Broward-Palm Beach, and his art continues to climb as his audience increases.
