Sara Arbel


Sara Arbel was born in Jerusalem Israel, since young age she has developed a unique style of painting later recognized by French critiques as MODERN ART NAÏVE.


"--sophistically naïve",

"--unrealistically optimistic",

"--sometimes funny but, never sad or depressed'",

"--story telling, very detailed, often weird",

"--you don't need Prozac watching [her] painting" and

"--always vivaciously colorful. No calm pastels".

No surprise: Arbel created most of her artistic work near Paris literarily in the center of the Impressionists country-side of Isle de' France where the light is extraordinary special provoking unique atmosphere and vigorous colures.

Arbel perused her art training in Israel, France and the U.S. Started at the Jerusalem Bezalael Art School –considered Israel's best art school at the time and, later she studied for five years under madam Isabelle Dansin located in the Impressionists and Van Gough village Auveres sur Oise where a flourishing artist-community maintains the tradition of exceptional fine art creation. She also took art courses at F.I.T New York City, Binghamton University N.Y, and at Cornell University N.Y.

Arbel's favorite topics are classical literature figures; authors and their characters: Marcel Proust, Vladimir Nabokov, Emil Zola, Françoise Sagan, Victor Hugo, Gertrude Stein, G. De Maupassant, H.de Balzac,
I. B. Singer, Yasunari Kawabata and many others.
